Richard J. Solyn, DO, FACOG
Dr. Solyn received a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh, and then earned his medical degree at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at Atlantic City Hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. After residency, Dr. Solyn was in private practice in Youngstown, Ohio and was a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine for many years. Dr. Solyn is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Solyn’s specific interests in Gynecology include cervical cancer screening with colposcopy, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and menopause, family planning, and office management of all types of gynecological problems. Dr. Solyn believes that listening carefully to the patient is the most importation part of any office visit, so that patients’ concerns and needs are completely addressed. Dr. Solyn moved to Tucson in 2008. He is a widower and has four children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Solyn is an avid cyclist. He enjoys reading, travel, classical music, good foods and wines.
